Explore Madrid’s Vinyl Scene: The Best Record Shops to Visit in Madrid, Spain
There’s something timeless about crate-digging in a great record shop. Whether you’re chasing a rare pressing, searching for the perfect gift, or just browsing for inspiration, vinyl stores offer more than music. We’re vinyl lovers ourselves, and on our most recent visit to Madrid, we explored the city’s best record shops right in the heart of the capital. Here are our five favourites in central Madrid, with everything you need to know to plan your own visit.
1. Marilians Records

About Marilians Records
Tucked away in the hip Malasaña district, Marilians Records is a paradise for vinyl hunters. This independent store is built by music lovers, for music lovers – and you feel it the second you step inside. It’s cosy, welcoming, and thoughtfully curated. We really like how organised the vinyls are based on artists’ names (A to Z) – it makes browsing so much more enjoyable. The modern décor gives it a clean, fresh feel, and the staff are always welcoming and helpful.
What You’ll Find & Why It’s Special
Expect a strong focus on indie, rock, alternative and Spanish pop. You’ll find both new pressings and second-hand vinyls, plus books, and even merchandise such as t-shirts and tote bags. We scored some great vinyl finds here, including Kim Gordon’s The Collective, Jamie xx’s In Waves, and St. Vincent’s All Born Screaming. They also participate in Record Store Day (an annual event celebrating independent record stores with exclusive releases). If you can’t make it on the day itself, keep an eye out for their dedicated bin of RSD leftovers – it’s a great way to pick up exclusives post-event.
💡 Travel Gentlemen Tips
Give yourself at least an hour to explore the bins, and if you’re after something rare, ask the staff – they might have it behind the counter. If you’re into Spanish indie, this is the place.

2. Escridiscos

About Escridiscos
Open since 1977, Escridiscos is one of Madrid’s oldest record stores and a mainstay of the local music scene. It’s centrally located just off Gran Vía, with a no-frills exterior and a welcoming, old-school vibe that reflects its deep roots in Madrid’s music culture.
What You’ll Find & Why It’s Special
Escridiscos has a great selection of brand new and used vinyl at reasonable prices. It’s especially strong in classic rock and alternative, with artists ranging from The Rolling Stones and Queen to Radiohead and The Cure. Music genres such as folk, country, punk, heavy metal, and indie are well represented too. You’ll also spot plenty of CDs, books, and merchandise like band t-shirts, making it a great all-round stop for physical music lovers.
It blends heritage with relevance. While the foundation is built on rock classics, you’ll also discover newer alternative releases and reissues. Their vinyl is in great condition, whether sealed or second-hand – a big part of why the store has stayed beloved for decades. We bought a second-hand vinyl copy of ‘Slave To The Grind’ by Skid Row in mint condition and original pressing plus a rare US copy of an 80’s vinyl album by Divinyls. Both sold in great prices.
